Launch of ‘In Search Of Oldton’

October 6th, 2004

Tim Wright has concluded his time as Digital Writer In Residence for the NESTA-funded Writers for the Future programme with the launch of his “90% true” online narrative.

‘In Search of Oldton’ is my attempt to work together with people - online and offline - to build up digital evidence of a town that never really existed.

My audience has sent me texts, pictures, sounds, videos and memorabilia that I have used to build up a detailed portrait of my old home town. The only rule about submissions is that they must be about a place or a person that has been lost or left behind.

It has been my task to fit these personal fragments of memory and farewell into a coherent digital story.”
