‘The Nuuk’ receives EU development funding

October 28th, 2004

XPT has been awarded €40,000 development funding through the EU MEDIA New Talent programme for its new entertainment project ‘The Nuuk’.

Working with Dutch cross-media content guru Frank Alsema and German publisher Terzio, XPT is developing ‘The Nuuk’ as a way of bridging the great divide between increasingly wired kids who want to play games and surf the web, and their remote, time-poor or divorced parents who seek quick and easy ways to understand and share digital entertainment experiences with their kids, but who also want to encourage independent reading and a love of books.

‘The Nuuk’ is a traditional storybook and online game for 8-11 year old children. The narrative centres around the tracking and hunting of mythical beasts using ‘Net access to all the fridges of the world to spot and trap the animals.

The projects hinges on XPT’s reknowned personalisation skills that will allow each player of the game to generate extra customised pages for the book, and thus place both parent and child right inside the stories that are being read.

Associate TV, music and mobile formats are also being developed.
